Al Smith
The Artist
Al's been painting and drawing for over two decades, and has studied under the guidance of elder artists including James Holmyard. As a member of the Queensland art group Access Arts, Al keeps busy
with regular exhibits, and uses numerous mediums. The styles of art range from abstracts to animals, and caricatures. The technology cycle has also brought him to designing web sites and you can see this
within this, and his other sites. It has been a thrill for Al to have had his art hanging in the same exhibits with great artists including Ken Done. You might like to check out Als' Art Gallery and Music Site, which has
several examples of Als' work. You could always listen to some music clips while you check out the Art.The Musician
Al's been playing in bands since the 60's, and as a very young child was curious to what the strange vibe that came from the house next door was. He was later to discover that it was Barry Gibb on one of his earliest musical ventures, jamming with the neighbour. As lead guitar/vocal of The Kick Ass Blues Band, Al shared many a stage with a young Quan Yeomans, of the seemingly unstoppable Regurgitator. Al's had many fine musical moments with some of the greatest musicians including Jimmy Barnes, Jeff Healey, Phil Manning and Bullamakanka. Check Out Al's Music Sites for more info. Al's Music releases " Three Day Wonder " and " Call Up", are available through Australian Companys, Empire Music and Southland Music,
or from Al's Websites.
